CMT revealed the winners of the “2020 CMT Music Awards” and Carrie took home the highly coveted “Video of The Year” and “Female Video of the Year” for the second consecutive year. This continues her reign as the most awarded artist in CMT history, now with 22 career wins in the entirely fan-voted awards show.

Carrie Underwood’s My Gift Debuts #1 on Multiple Charts

Carrie’s first-ever Christmas album, My Gift, debuts #1 on the Billboard Country, Christian and Holiday charts this week. My Gift marks the eighth straight album Carrie has debuted #1 on the Billboard Country chart. My Gift also debuted #1 on the UK country chart (her fifth #1 on the chart) and #1 on the Canadian country chart. 

My Gift features a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as several new originals. Two of the original songs are written by Carrie, frequent collaborator Brett James, and her Cry Pretty co-producer, David Garcia.  In addition to a very special appearance by Carrie’s 5-year-old son, Isaiah Fisher, on the holiday classic that inspired the album title, “Little Drummer Boy,” My Gift also features her first collaboration with Emmy, GRAMMY®, Oscar, and Tony Award-winner John Legend, on the original track, “Hallelujah,” written by John Legend and Toby Gad (“All of Me”).

HBO Max and Carrie Underwood Get Into the Holiday Spirit with a Christmas Special Highlighting Her First-Ever Christmas Album, My Gift

HBO Max announced today an exclusive holiday special for the platform starring Carrie Underwood, performing songs from her first ever full-length Christmas album, My Gift, which is available on CD and digital September 25th. 

Carrie will appear with a live orchestra and choir, performing a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as new original material from the highly anticipated album, which will also be released on vinyl October 30th.

The Max Original special will be executive produced by Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks for Playtone, along with Underwood and her manager, Ann Edelblute. The holiday event is set to shoot this fall.

Carrie Takes Home 3rd ACM Entertainer of the Year Award

Carrie won the Academy’s highest honor for Entertainer of the Year with the first ever tie in that category. This is Carrie’s third win, making her the most awarded female in the ACM Entertainer of the Year category in ACM Awards history.

Carrie helped kick off the 55th Annual ACM Awards performing “Before He Cheats” from the Grand Ole Opry House as part of the show’s opening along with fellow Entertainer of the Year nominees. In celebration of the 95th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry, Carrie honored trailblazing female Opry members by performing a medley of songs including Patsy Cline’s “Crazy,” Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man),” Barbara Mandrell’s “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool,” Dolly Parton’s “Why’d You Come In Here Lookin’ Like That,” Reba McEntire’s “The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia,” and Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing.”

It was announced this morning that Carrie will kick off the 55TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™ along with her fellow Entertainer of the Year nominees in a special performance featuring a medley of some of their greatest hits.

Carrie Underwood Stars in Reimagined 2020 NBC Sunday Night Football Show Open

In less than three weeks, on Sunday, Sept. 13, Carrie Underwood stars in the debut of the 2020 show open for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, which has been primetime television’s No. 1 program for an unprecedented nine consecutive years. For the first time, the SNF show open will feature user-generated content from fans showcasing their team spirit. In addition, cameos from some of the NFL’s biggest stars, also recorded remotely, will be highlighted. Headlined by Carrie for the eighth consecutive season, the show open will also feature an inside at look at her new recording of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” in a Nashville studio.
