KEITH URBAN AND CARRIE UNDERWOOD SET TO CO-HEADLINE “Love, Pain & the whole crazy Carnival Ride Tour”

24-City Tour To Launch On January 31st

Grammy Award winners Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood are set to hit the road together in ’08, a 24-city tour that combines the music of two of the music industry’s most powerful performers. “Love, Pain & the whole crazy Carnival Ride Tour,” a name that combines the titles of each artist’s most recent album; Keith’s double platinum #1 debuting Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing and Carrie’s recent #1 debut second album Carnival Ride,” will feature 12 #1 songs (7 for Urban and 5 from Underwood). Tickets are set to go on sale as of December 1st.

“I’m looking forward to hitting the road with Carrie, and to bringing our audiences together for what I think will be a magical night of sights, sounds, songs and solos,” said Urban.

“I can’t think of a better person to begin 2008 with than Keith,” shares Underwood. “He is an amazing entertainer and a well-respected musician, singer and songwriter.”

Urban, who will release Greatest Hits: 18 Kids on November 20th, has been on the road since April in support of his #1 album Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing. In that time, he’s performed shows on three continents, to packed houses, frantic crowds and widespread critical praise. Digital Sales of 44,928 Mark the Largest Country Debut in Digital Album Chart History

Nashville, TN – She’s the reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist and two-time GRAMMY winner, and Carrie Underwood continues the record-breaking ways of her Sextuple-Platinum debut album, Some Hearts, with the explosive arrival of Carnival Ride, which vaults to #1 atop Billboard’s Top Country Albums and all-genre Billboard 200 charts with mammoth first-week sales of 527,101.

Setting multiple chart records, Carnival Ride not only earned the best-selling first week of any country sophomore album since the inception of SoundScan, but also notched the largest country debut in digital album chart history, with digital sales of 44,928.

As part of the excitement surrounding the album release, Underwood has recently been featured on Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, The Early Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the third game of the World Series (singing the National Anthem), and more, with upcoming performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (Nov 5), a second Good Morning America (Nov 12), and The Late Show with David Letterman (Nov 13). With additional appearances yet to be announced, Carrie will also perform on The 41st Annual CMA Awards on November 7, where she is a triple nominee, up for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year (for “Before He Cheats,” which also earned a Song of the Year nomination for its songwriters).

Carnival Ride’s first smash single, “So Small,” is currently inside the country airplay Top 5 and follows a string of four consecutive #1 country singles from her first album. Released in November of 2005, Underwood’s 19 Recordings/Arista Records/Arista Nashville debut, Some Hearts, became the best-selling, single-disc country album by a solo female in the new millennium and, with sales topping 1.3 million copies this year alone, has so far remained the best-selling country album of 2007.

Carrie is nominated in the Favorite Female Artist – Country category as well as the Favorite Album – Country category for Some Hearts.

For the first time in American Music Awards history, winners will be determined by online voting at ama.abc.com (votes will be collected from Oct. 9 to Nov. 1). Winners will be broadcast live on ABC, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18th (8:00-11:00 pm ET/PT) from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles.

Condé Nast Media Group (CNMG), the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) announced today an all-star line-up of performers for MOVIES ROCK – a two-hour live event and television special that celebrates the powerful relationship between music and film. The live event will take place at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles on December 2, 2007, and will air on Friday, December 7 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The Entertainment Industry Foundation will be a beneficiary of the project.

MOVIES ROCK will pay tribute to some of music’s most iconic moments in film. Performances will include Beyoncé singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz and Carrie Underwood performing the title song from The Sound of Music. Fergie and Jennifer Hudson will lend their own magic to “Live And Let Die” and “Goldfinger” from the James Bond films while Mary J. Blige and John Legend will sing “As Time Goes By” from Casablanca. Legendary composer John Williams will lead an orchestra in a medley of his original scores, and Elton John will honor the music from animated features.

Underwood’s new 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville album, Carnival Ride, will be released October 23. The first single, “So Small,” written by Underwood, Luke Laird, and Hillary Lindsey, broke records earlier this month when it earned the highest first-week sales of any country airplay single in digital history. The song also debuted on the Billboard/R&R country airplay chart last month as the highest entry by a solo country female artist in Nielsen BDS history.
