July 18, 2024 – Today, 8-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood added a new and historic first to her long list of accolades when both the Honorable Rick Blangiardi, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, and James Tokioka, Director of the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, on behalf of Governor Josh Green, presented her with ceremonial proclamations declaring July 18, 2024, as “Carrie Underwood Day.”
The proclamations were issued in recognition of Underwood’s incredible career achievements, significant cultural and societal contributions, and her first-ever performances in Hawaii on July 19 and 20, 2024. Never in the history of the Aloha State have ceremonial proclamations been issued concurrently by the state of Hawaii and the city and county of Honolulu to honor an entertainer.
Concert promoter Rick Bartalini said: “History has been made with Carrie becoming the first artist to receive ceremonial proclamations from both the state and city. She is in prestigious company of entertainers that have been previously honored by either the Mayor or the Governor in this manner, including Elvis Presley, Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars, and Diana Ross.”

March 18, 2024 – Due to extraordinary demand, Carrie has added a second show on July 20 to her first-ever concert appearance in Hawaii. Just announced last week, tickets for the July 19 performance of “An Evening With Carrie Underwood” at Honolulu’s Blaisdell Arena sold out in under one hour, and a second show was added.
This show in Hawaii will be the 50th U.S. state where Carrie has performed a concert. It will mark her second time in Hawaii, though her first time performing a concert there, having filmed the movie, Soul Surfer, in the Aloha State in 2010. Carrie and Garth Brooks are the only country artists to sell out Blaisdell Arena in under an hour.

For the second year in a row, Resorts World Theatre has been named the world’s highest-grossing venue under 5,000 capacity on Billboard’s Annual Top Grossing Venues list for 2023. Based on reporting from November 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023, the 5,000-seat venue scored No. 1 on the 2023 year-end boxscore chart.
