Nashville, TN – (May 31, 2016) – Seven-time Grammy winner and Pollstar’s three-time top female country touring artist, Carrie Underwood, just wrapped the spring leg of the biggest tour of her career last night in London, ON, Canada. “The Storyteller Tour” rolled in to 47 cities as well as seven different countries, playing to nearly 600,000 people since the tour launched January 30 in Jacksonville, FL. The tour crossed from one coast to the other coast and cities in between as well as traveling overseas to play in Sweden, Norway, Scotland, England, and Ireland as part of Country to Country (C2C), Europe’s biggest country music festival.

Carrie shared a recap video of the spring leg of her tour on her social channels this morning which can be seen here https://www.smarturl.it/CUTOURVID. Also, the music video for “Church Bells” was filmed during a live concert in Lincoln, NE at the Pinnacle Bank Arena, and can be viewed here: https://smarturl.it/cuchurchbellsvevo

“The most stunning part of the production however, remains Underwood’s voice, strong and nuanced.” – The Boston Globe

“Granted, it’s early in the year, but the songstress dazzled the crowd with relative ease and class that it’s not outside the realm of possibility that she might just reclaim the Female Vocalist of the Year prize from the CMA – and also the top prize of Entertainer of the Year. To say she deserves it would be a huge understatement, because from a pure standpoint of vocals and showmanship, no other female vocalist comes close!” – Sounds Like Nashville

“Underwood’s two-hour Monday night show (Feb. 22) was anything but a traditional country show, as the superstar presented a visual spectacle with a stage set-up that has to be seen to be believed.” –Billboard

“If they came (fans) for an arena spectacle with absolutely perfect, dead-on vocals, this was your All-American Girl.” – Pittsburgh Post Gazette

“Lasers and swaying spotlights and fireworks and explosions all added to the spectacle. But make no mistake, Underwood was the star of the show.” – Florida Times-Union

The Washington Post claimed she’s “at the top of her game”

“The singer flawlessly delivered note-perfect versions of her biggest hits over the years…” Sounds Like Nashville

The show’s “presentation is overwhelming, from start to finish- a spectacular sensory overload that had the crowd roaring all night long.” –Hampton Daily Press

“the in-the-round setting provides each concertgoer with the best experience possible. Simpler still is the storytelling aspect of the show and country music’s reliance on conveying memorable stories in song.”– Rolling Stone Country

“Underwood demonstrated that she now truly can stare unflinchingly into those lights and dominate a stage, with a confidence, defiance, and a sense of ownership that have been a treat to watch come to fruition.” – Boston Globe

The show “served proof once again why the singer remains one of the most popular in the format.” – Sounds Like Nashville

“A rock-solid, deftly sequenced hour-and-45-minue long set, which moved from playful to solemn, smooth to twangy, and from cinematic scope to smaller, intimate moments.”-The BostonGlobe

CMA-50-hosts-2220x800-1

NASHVILLE – Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be returning to host Country Music’s Biggest Night™ in 2016. “The 50th Annual CMA Awards” airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 2 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

The return of the popular pair was announced during Paisley’s appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and via Underwood’s social network. The follow-up CMA social announcement included a video highlight reel of the first 50 years of CMA Awards moments.

“This is a milestone year for the CMA Awards as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary and the broadcast is in great hands with Brad and Carrie,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “They are genuinely invested in the ongoing success of the CMA Awards, but they are equally committed to honoring the traditions that are the foundation of Country Music’s Biggest Night.”

“I really enjoy hosting the CMA Awards with Brad,” said Underwood. “Of course we have fun up there, but we take the responsibility of honoring the best artists in the format and shining a positive light on Country Music very seriously. And this year, the bar will be even higher as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the CMA Awards. I can’t wait.”

“I look forward to hosting the CMA Awards each year,” said Paisley. “Carrie and I have certainly hit our stride in terms of balancing humor and a genuine respect for the nominees and winners. This year the stakes are higher than ever as we honor the legacy and traditions of the past 50 years. We will give it everything we’ve got.”

Paisley has won 14 CMA Awards since receiving the Horizon Award (now the New Artist Award) in 2000, including Entertainer of the Year (2010), Male Vocalist (2007, 2008, 2009), and Album (2006 for Time Well Wasted). He won Musical Event of the Year three times, first in 2004 with Alison Krauss for “Whiskey Lullaby,” second in 2006 for “When I Get Where I’m Going” with Dolly Parton, and a third time in 2009 for “Start a Band” with Keith Urban. He claimed the Vocal Event of the Year trophy in 2001 for “Too Country” with Bill Anderson, George Jones, and Buck Owens; and won Music Video of the Year four times, including “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” (2002), “Whiskey Lullaby” (with Krauss, 2004), “Online” (2007), and “Waitin’ on a Woman” (featuring Andy Griffith, 2008). He is No. 3 on the list of the top CMA Awards nominees of all time.

Paisley is a critically-acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist, and entertainer whose talents have earned him numerous awards, including three Grammys. He has been a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001. Paisley has written 20 of his 23 No. 1 singles with the first being his 1999 hit “He Didn’t Have To Be” and his most recent, “Perfect Storm,” from his chart-topping 2014 album Moonshine in the Trunk. Paisley’s current single is “Without A Fight” featuring multi-Platinum artist Demi Lovato and is currently No. 27 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and was Paisley’s biggest radio add day of his career. His 2016 “Life Amplified World Tour” kicked off on May 19 and will travel across the U.S. and Canada this summer, with more dates to be added. Paisley has partnered with Boot Barn® and developed an exclusive line of jeans, hats, T-shirts, jewelry, belts and woven shirts called Moonshine Spirit by Brad Paisley. Underwood has received five CMA Awards in her career: three consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year trophies (2006-2008), as well as Single of the Year (2007 for “Before He Cheats”), and the Horizon Award (2006). Her 23 career CMA Awards nominations include three for Album of the Year for Carnival Ride (2008), Play On (2010), and Blown Away (2013); five nominations for Music Video of the Year for “Jesus, Take the Wheel” (2006), “Before He Cheats” (2007), “Blown Away” (2013), “Somethin’ Bad” a duet with Miranda Lambert (2014), and “Something in the Water” (2015); and two for Musical Event of the Year for “I Told You So” featuring Randy Travis (2009) and “Somethin’ Bad” (2014). She has been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year every year since first being nominated in 2006 (2006-2015).

Underwood emerged from the promise of her 2005 “American Idol” win to become a true multi-format, multi-media superstar, spanning achievements in music, television, and film. A seven-time Grammy Award winner, she has amassed more than 100 major honors, sold 58 million records worldwide, and recorded 23 No. 1 singles (13 of which she co-wrote), with a catalog of songs that have been streamed more than 1.5 billion times worldwide. Underwood was recognized as Pollstar’s top female Country touring artist for her headlining tours in 2008, 2010, and 2012. Her first four studio albums, Some Hearts, Carnival Ride, Play On, and Blown Away – each certified multi-Platinum or Platinum – have tallied an incredible 38 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. In 2013, Underwood starred as Maria von Trapp in NBC’s three-hour holiday blockbuster, the Emmy-winning “The Sound of Music Live!,” whose airings attracted 44 million viewers. In December of 2014, the Grand Ole Opry member released her first hits collection, Greatest Hits: Decade #1. Billboard’s best-selling hits album of 2015, the chart-topping package was certified Platinum in January of 2016, making Underwood the only Country artist – and one of only six all-genre artists – to launch an album to Platinum success since the time of its release in December of 2014. Celebrating her first 10 years of music, the collection’s 25 songs included two new No. 1 hits co-written by Underwood: the Platinum-certified, Grammy-winning “Something in the Water,” as well as the Gold-certified “Little Toy Guns.” In 2015, she began her third season as the voice of primetime television’s No. 1 program, “Sunday Night Football.” Underwood’s current single, “Church Bells,” is quickly climbing the charts, following the No. 1 successes of “Smoke Break” and “Heartbeat,” all from her chart-topping, Gold-certified fifth studio album, Storyteller. Nashville, TN – Seven-time GRAMMY®-winning superstar Carrie Underwood premiered a first look of her new music video for single “Church Bells” this morning on Good Morning America and also launched a 48-hour exclusive stream on ABCNews/Yahoo. To watch it go to https://smarturl.it/churchbellsgma

The music video was filmed during a live concert in Lincoln, NE at the Pinnacle Bank Arena on Carrie’s Storyteller Tour. Directed by Wayne Isham (Michael Jackson, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Britney Spears), the video captures Carrie’s energetic live performance of her current single, as well as highlights from the rest of the show that has fans and critics raving.

Carrie and Wayne

Carrie debuted the single on the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards in April to stellar performance reviews. Rolling Stone Country claimed her performance was “nothing short of spectacular” while “her voice still hitting every impossibly high note” as she owned the arena and worked across all three stages and mastered a drum solo.

“Church Bells,” the single that Music Row claims has “a stomping rhythm track and a soaring, hooky melody,” was produced by Mark Bright and was written by Zach Crowell, Brett James, and Hillary Lindsey.  The song debuted on the radio charts as the most-added new single at Mediabase, and is the third release from her critically Gold-certified album Storyteller.

6 New Shows Added At The Grand Ole Opry

Carrie has added 6 new summer shows at the Grand Ole Opry! Performances are scheduled for both the 7:00p and 9:30p shows on May 20th, May 21st, and June 7th. Learn more and buy tickets here.
