One year after garnering worldwide attention opening NBC’s Super Bowl LII, Carrie Underwood’s hit event anthem, “The Champion,” featuring Ludacris, has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Underwood co-wrote “The Champion” with fellow songwriters Brett James, Chris DeStefano, and Christopher Bridges PKA Ludacris, who Underwood asked to collaborate on the event song produced by Jim Jonsin. NBC Sports also incorporated “The Champion” into its coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

Globally, “The Champion” reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 10 countries including the U.S. where it held the top spot throughout its release week then rose back to the top of the chart for four consecutive days after the Super Bowl LII opening. The song also debuted Top 5 on the all-genre Top 200 Digital Songs chart and reached No. 7 on the Spotify US Viral 50 Chart with over 151 million streams to date. Additionally, “The Champion” is featured as a bonus track on Underwood’s critically-acclaimed, Gold-certified sixth studio album, Cry Pretty. Released in September 2018, Underwood’s first studio album on Capitol Records Nashville, debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Album Charts and was the biggest all-genre debut by a female in 2018.

Co-produced by Underwood and writer/producer David Garcia, that debut earned Underwood a place in music history as the only woman to land four country albums at the top of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, as well as the first female country act to top the Billboard Artist 100 Chart. She will be joined on the UK tour by special guests, The Shires, the UK’s best-selling country act of all time.
 
Underwood has made numerous visits to the UK over the course of her career. She helped establish UK and Ireland’s Country To Country Festival, the biggest celebration of country music outside North America, with headline performances during its first year in 2013, and again during its fourth year in 2016, which included a sold-out show at London’s O2 Arena. Underwood’s first UK concert performance included a sold-out night at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall in 2012.
 
Tickets for the UK shows will go on sale Thursday, March 7 via www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk. As she has done for her North American shows, Underwood has arranged for a donation from each ticket sold for The Cry Pretty Tour UK to be contributed to Danita’s Children, which provides a safe haven for abandoned and vulnerable children in Haiti, while encouraging families to stay together through their education and malnutrition programs.

Carrie Underwood Inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame

TULSA, Oklahoma – (Nov. 19, 2018) – Seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer and Checotah-native Carrie Underwood was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame’s 91st class at the official ceremony on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center. Induction into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame is the state’s highest honor with 698 individuals that have been recognized since the first class in 1928. Underwood’s friend and fellow Oklahoma-born country artist Bryan White presented her with this honor. Others in the 91st class include Jon R. Stuart, Mo Anderson, Paul Allen, Charlie Christian, David Rainbolt, and Ree Drummond. This ceremony took place fresh off her 5th win for “Female Vocalist of the Year” at the CMA Awards, which Underwood co-hosted the night prior with Brad Paisley for the 11th consecutive year and performed her hit single “Love Wins.” Underwood released Cry Pretty, her first studio album on Capitol Records Nashville, on September 14. In Spring 2019, Carrie will launch The Cry Pretty Tour 360, which will kick off in May and will play 55 arenas across the U.S. and Canada.

During CMA awards rehearsals, UMG Nashville executives presented Carrie Underwood with a plaque commemorating the RIAA Gold Certifications of her Cry Pretty album and “Cry Pretty” single.

Multi-platinum-selling global superstar Carrie Underwood has spent the last month sharing her critically-acclaimed album Cry Pretty with the world. From coast-to-coast U.S. promotion including an emotional profile with CBS Sunday Morning, impromptu karaoke with Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen Show, Underwood has also traveled to the Netherlands, Germany and Australia.

In the Netherlands, she promoted the album in Amsterdam, as well as, performing at the 3rd annual Tuckerville Festival in Enschede, which was attended by fans from all over Europe. The trip to Holland was followed by a round of promotion in Berlin, Germany before U.S. appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen Show, as well as, stellar album reviews from Rolling Stone, NPR and Consequence of Sound. Additionally, Carrie introduced a new song and show open for her sixth season as the voice of Sunday Night Football, primetime television’s No.1 weekly program.

Before heading to Australia for more international promotion, Underwood was joined by family and friends for her star ceremony and induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as, a performance at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV.

In Australia, she performed in front of a live audience on The AFL Footy Show’s Grand Final Edition from Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and headlined the iconic Deni Ute Muster’s 20th Anniversary Festival in Deniliquin, New South Wales, for a crowd of nearly 18,000 people. In addition to appearances on ABC News Breakfast and her third on Australia’s nightly news and entertainment program, The Project, she performed an outdoor concert live from Melbourne’s Federation Square on Sunrise, the No. 1 breakfast show, as part of their annual Grand Final Brekky Party, leading up to the country-wide AFL Grand Final weekend celebrations.

In the coming weeks Underwood will have several performances including the 2018 American Music Awards airing on ABC, where she is also nominated as Favorite Female Artist – Country.
