Carrie Set To Star In Holiday Special Exclusively on HBO Max

Carrie releases her first-ever Christmas album, My Gift, today, listen HERE.

Produced and Arranged by Greg Wells, My Gift features a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as several originals. Two of the new original songs are written by Carrie, frequent collaborator Brett James (“Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Something In The Water”), and her Cry Pretty co-producer, David Garcia.  In addition to a very special appearance by her 5-year-old son, Isaiah Fisher, on the holiday classic that inspired the album title, “Little Drummer Boy,” My Gift also features her first collaboration with Emmy, GRAMMY®, Oscar, and Tony Award-winner John Legend, on the original track, “Hallelujah,” written by Legend and Toby Gad (“All of Me”). 

Yesterday, Carrie appeared on NBC’s TODAY to discuss My Gift as well as her historic ACM win and how she’s spending time with family this year, watch HERE. Carrie also shared that with the release of My Gift, she helped celebrate the season of giving through her C.A.T.S.Foundation (Checotah Animal, Town, and School Foundation). She recently donated $100,000 worth of Chromebooks and other supplies to the students in her hometown Checotah, Oklahoma school system (K-12) to help during the pandemic, and has set up a website for fans to share their own stories about acts of kindness as well as examples of how we can all inspire others by paying it forward. Carrie is also set to star in an all-new holiday special, which will be available exclusively on HBO Max. She will appear with a live orchestra and choir, performing a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as new original material from My Gift. The Max Original special will be executive produced by Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks for Playtone, along with Carrie and her manager, Ann Edelblute. The streamer will premiere the event this holiday season.

HBO Max and Carrie Underwood Get Into the Holiday Spirit with a Christmas Special Highlighting Her First-Ever Christmas Album, My Gift

HBO Max announced today an exclusive holiday special for the platform starring Carrie Underwood, performing songs from her first ever full-length Christmas album, My Gift, which is available on CD and digital September 25th. 

Carrie will appear with a live orchestra and choir, performing a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as new original material from the highly anticipated album, which will also be released on vinyl October 30th.

The Max Original special will be executive produced by Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks for Playtone, along with Underwood and her manager, Ann Edelblute. The holiday event is set to shoot this fall.

Carrie Takes Home 3rd ACM Entertainer of the Year Award

Carrie won the Academy’s highest honor for Entertainer of the Year with the first ever tie in that category. This is Carrie’s third win, making her the most awarded female in the ACM Entertainer of the Year category in ACM Awards history.

Carrie helped kick off the 55th Annual ACM Awards performing “Before He Cheats” from the Grand Ole Opry House as part of the show’s opening along with fellow Entertainer of the Year nominees. In celebration of the 95th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry, Carrie honored trailblazing female Opry members by performing a medley of songs including Patsy Cline’s “Crazy,” Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man),” Barbara Mandrell’s “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool,” Dolly Parton’s “Why’d You Come In Here Lookin’ Like That,” Reba McEntire’s “The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia,” and Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing.”

Carrie to Open the 55th ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™ Along with Fellow Entertainer of the Year Nominees

It was announced this morning that Carrie will kick off the 55TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™ along with her fellow Entertainer of the Year nominees in a special performance featuring a medley of some of their greatest hits.

The 55TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™, a Night of Heart and Hits Live from Nashville, will be broadcast on Wednesday, September 16 (live 8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on CBS All Access.
