Los Angeles, CA – To ring in the New Year, music superstar Carrie Underwood will headline the evening with a performance of her hit songs for over 1 million fans in Times Square moments before the ball drops, live on ABC’s telecast of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2016.” The ten-time Billboard Music Award winner and eight-time American Music Award winner has spent 38 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and recently celebrated the release of her fifth studio album, “Storyteller.” America’s biggest celebration of the year will take place live from Times Square on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31 beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the ABC Television Network.

 

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than New York’s Times Square, one of the most magical places in the world, to ring in the New Year,” said Underwood.  “It’s going to be a memorable night, and I can’t wait to celebrate with the world!”

 

“The first time I heard Carrie sing, I knew she would be a superstar, and each year she continues to dominate the charts,” said host and executive producer Ryan Seacrest. “I can’t wait to see her rock Times Square and ring in 2016 as our headliner.”

 

The bi-coastal celebration will include hours of special performances and reports on New Year’s celebrations from around the globe, and Ryan Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City as he has for the last 10 years.

 

In addition to Underwood’s performance, actress and comedian Jenny McCarthy will report live from Times Square while popstar Fergie returns to host the Billboard Hollywood Party.

Nashville, TN – (October 27, 2015) – Seven-time Grammy winner and Pollstar’s three-time top female country touring artist,Carrie Underwood, who just released her fifth studio album, Storyteller, will launch a new arena tour in 2016 to take her new music on the road. The Storyteller Tour – Stories in the Round, in association with award-winning cosmetics brand ALMAY, will kick off on January 30 in Jacksonville, Florida, playing 40 arenas across the U.S. and Canada.

 

“I can’t wait to play new music from Storyteller for the fans,” shares Underwood. “I am so blessed to have this career and get to do to the things I do, but there is nothing like that moment when I get to step onto the stage to sing and all the fans are singing along with me.”

 

The Storyteller Tour – Stories in the Round will be Underwood’s first tour “in the round.”  With the stage in the middle of the arena floor, the 360-degree setting will allow fans on all sides of the arena to get a very intimate and unique concert experience.  Barry Lather (Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Usher, Michael Jackson) is the tour’s Creative Director and Butch Allen (Metallica, The Eagles, Eric Church, No Doubt) is Production Designer.

 

The North American tour, promoted by AEG Live, will include special guests Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers. Tickets will be available for The Storyteller Tour beginning Friday, November 6 at 10am local time at www.aeglive.com. Underwood has arranged for a donation of $1 from each ticket sold at the U.S. dates of The Storyteller Tour to be contributed to the C.A.T.S Foundation to help aid its causes including Checotah, Oklahoma’s education and literacy programs. Established in 2009, the C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town, and School) Foundation helps with general causes, needs, and services in the area of Checotah, Oklahoma, Carrie’s hometown, to directly impact the community.

 

Underwood also has previously-announced festivals scheduled in 2016, including international dates in Ireland, England, and Scotland for the C2C Festival.

(Oct. 14, 2015) — The Recording Academy®, AEG Ehrlich Ventures, and CBS will honor the remarkable legacy of nine-time GRAMMY® winner Frank Sinatra by presenting “Sinatra 100 — An All-Star GRAMMY Concert,” a primetime entertainment special celebrating the late icon’s 100th birthday. Seven-time GRAMMY winner Carrie Underwood was announced to perform at the tribute along with 17-time GRAMMY winner Tony Bennett, two-time GRAMMY winner Garth Brooks, 15-time GRAMMY winner Alicia Keys, nine-time GRAMMY winner John Legend, three-time GRAMMY winner Adam Levine, and eight-time GRAMMY winner Usher. The live concert taping will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theatre. The special will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 9 – 11 p.m. ET/PT. Additional performers will be announced shortly.

 

In close partnership with the Sinatra family, “Sinatra 100 — An All-Star GRAMMY Concert” is the only televised concert special celebrating Sinatra’s centennial. Through the generosity of the family, the concert will feature artists performing instantly recognizable arrangements originally orchestrated for “the Chairman of the Board” by renowned arrangers Don Costa, Gordon Jenkins, Quincy Jones, and Nelson Riddle. The special will keep the honoree center stage throughout the night by integrating tribute performances of Sinatra classics with rare archival footage narrated by Sinatra himself.

Superstar Carrie Underwood will celebrate the Friday, October 23, release of her new album, Storyteller, with a Citi Concert Series performance on NBC’s Today. 

 

Fans can look forward to a performance that includes Underwood’s co-written current smash single, “Smoke Break.”  On Monday, the song’s lyric video made its debut on RollingStone.com and RollingStoneCountry.com and is now online here.

 

Making the lyric video all the more fun, Underwood asked her fans to share images of what they like to do when they need a break.  In return, selected photos are highlighted throughout the video.
