Carrie Underwood Honors Soldiers With Song Written for ACM Military Tribute Show

“Keep Us Safe” Will Premiere on ACM PRESENTS: AN ALL-STAR SALUTE TO THE TROOPS

“Keep Us Safe” Available Digitally Coinciding With Performance and Benefiting ACM Lifting Lives®

Carrie Underwood, an 11-time Academy of Country Music Award winner, co-penned a song specifically for the Academy’s military tribute show, ACM PRESENTS: AN ALL-STAR SALUTE TO THE TROOPS.  Carrie’s performance of “Keep Us Safe” will debut during the broadcast on Tuesday, May 20, 9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.  Coinciding with her performance, the song will be available digitally with proceeds benefiting ACM Lifting Lives®, the charitable arm of the Academy.

“When we were approached to be a part of the show, I was so excited to do something to honor our troops and because ACM Lifting Lives does such great work.  I wanted to take the time to really think about what song I wanted to perform,” shares Carrie.  “I had a writing session scheduled with my co-writers and friends Hillary Lindsey, Luke Laird, and Shane McAnally, and I guess the show was weighing on my mind. I think we all left the session knowing the song was special because it basically wrote itself that day!”

In addition to being a three-time ACM Top Female Vocalist, in 2010 she became the first female artist to win ACM Entertainer of the Year twice.
