Carrie’s “Good Girl” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Country Songs Chart with 108,000 Downloads in 3 Days!

“Good Girl” Is Most Added Song at Country Radio!

Superstar Carrie Underwood’s new single, “Good Girl,” debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Country Songs chart today with sales of 108,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. After releasing the song early Friday morning it took fans only three short days to make “Good Girl” the top selling song.

“Good Girl,” the lead single from Carrie’s forthcoming new album, was also the most added song this week on the country airplay charts. Written by Carrie, Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorley, and produced by Mark Bright, the song is currently available at all digital providers.

Since releasing Some Hearts in 2005, Underwood has sold more than 14 million albums with Some Hearts, 2007’s Carnival Ride, and 2009’s Play On. She’s amassed 14 No. 1 singles, six of which she co-wrote, and became the first country artist in history and the only American Idol winner ever to achieve 10 No. 1 singles from their first two albums. It was a weekend for football and music, as Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood scored the highest-rated episode of CMT CROSSROADS in seven years. More than 3.1 million total viewers* tuned in to CMT for weekend airings of CMT CROSSROADS: STEVEN TYLER & CARRIE UNDERWOOD FROM THE PEPSI SUPER BOWL FAN JAM, which premiered Saturday, February 4 from Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. The premiere garnered 1.9 million total viewers, marking the highest-rated CMT CROSSROADS episode since the 2005 pairing of Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Also a hit on social media, #CMTcrossroads peaked in the #3 spot on Twitter for U.S. trending topics.

CMT CROSSROADS: STEVEN TYLER & CARRIE UNDERWOOD FROM THE PEPSI SUPER BOWL FAN JAM will be retelecast on CMT Saturday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. and again Sunday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m, ET/PT.

Tyler and Underwood took the stage for a rocking hour of hits, including “Sweet Emotion,” “Love in an Elevator,” “Before He Cheats,” “Cryin’,” a spectacular mash-up of Underwood’s “Just A Dream” and Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” a special performance of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” and Underwood’s smash “Undo It,” and the Steppenwolf classic “Born To Be Wild.”

CMT CROSSROADS capped off a hit-driven Saturday night lineup on the network with the breakout hits BAYOU BILLIONAIRES and MY BIG REDNECK VACATION. The series recently premiered as the network’s highest rated original series telecasts in history.

Carrie Underwood To Release New Album On May 1, 2012

In anticipation of what is expected to be one of this year’s hottest album releases, it was announced today that Carrie Underwood’s new CD will be released on Tuesday, May 1. Produced by Mark Bright, the forthcoming album was featured in Entertainment Weekly’s recent “10 albums we can’t wait for.” This will be the fourth studio album on 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville for the five-time Grammy winner. The debut single co-written by Underwood, “Good Girl,” will be released to country radio on February 23.

Underwood’s February schedule is already gearing up with numerous appearances, performances, and events. Among those are “CMT Crossroads” with Aerosmith rock legend Steven Tyler (with initial airings on CMT Sat. Feb.4, 11pm ET and Sun.
