Carrie Received A Golden Globe Nomination!

“There’s A Place For Us” From “Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”

Five-time Grammy winner and two-time Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood received a new honor today with the announcement of her Golden Globe nomination in the “Best Original Song- Motion Picture” category for her co-written song “There’s A Place For Us” from the film “Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” This is Underwood’s first-ever Golden Globe recognition.

“I am absolutely thrilled by this wonderful honor today,” says Underwood. “It was such an exciting endeavor to have been asked to create music for the film. I grew up with the books and have been a fan of the earlier two movies. I can’t wait for the Golden Globes!”

Underwood was asked to write and record a song for the movie earlier this year. Carrie, along with frequent co-writers and now fellow Golden Globe nominees, Hillary Lindsey and David Hodges, created “There’s A Place For Us,” which became the end title song in the film.

“Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” directed by Michael Apted, was released in U.S. theaters this past weekend and debuted at No. 1 at the box office.
