Everyday i think Taylor Swift couldn't possibly get any more annoying and overplayed---and then she does!

I think both Carrie and Taylor are great....they are friends....why do we as fans need to make this divide? There are some posters on other forums like trufan who are running off all the interested youth of country music. If I want to have music at a classy dinner etc....I would put on Carrie....If I wanted to have a party...I would put on Taylor. They are both great ambassadors for our genre.

Why do all TS fans come to CU sit?????Want to see if any Carrie fans would go over to TS-duh, why would you switch from steak to hotdog? Carrie is so ahead in vocals and everything else. When Taylor does all the things she's doing today. There will come a time that no one will bother listening to her anymore.. SHe's so personal and not varied in her songs.. Songs that only talks about herself (though indirectly, but still about herself).... And Carrie doesn't deserve this... She's like on the ranks of Faith Hill, Martina McBride and Reba McEntire. . Taylor doesn't even have a single VOCALIST award EVER..

Taylor is a cool person and she's a good songwriter. Her problem though, is that a lot of her songs one dimensional.... They're mostly about love - which gets old after awhile. She also couldn't sing live if her life depended on it. Carrie is an amazing live performer and she has a lot of deep & meaningful songs.

you shouldn't even compare Carrie to taylor, the vocals are not at all close! Carrie Underwood has AMAZING vocals! She has a powerful voice and sounds even better live than she does on her CD. Carrie Underwood should be compared to Martina McBride, both are amazing people and singers

Carrie definately, no contest.

Not even close, I love listening toCarrie, seeing or hearing Taylor makes me ill, just a little teen bopper, with nothing to interst me. I've tried to like her, but it went bad the other way.

Carrie is definitely better. Taylor is okay but seems to be aimed at a younger generation. My 13 year old daughter listens to both but idolizes Carrie. When she was on AI, my daughter had 3 phones going simultaneously voting for Carrie which started out just because she was from Oklahoma, but then because of her talent. Both girls definitely have talent, though Carrie has a far more powerful voice. She performs much better live than Taylor without a doubt. I enjoy each of their music, but there isn't a Carrie Underwood song I don't know every word to, simply because it entertains, it connects with an audience, AND keeps people wanting more.Taylor has each of these factors as well, but much less so, in my eyes at least. Many of Taylor's songs are just way too depressing for me. I must say, in the long run, I agree with rachel_loh - this is CARRIE'S site, NOT Taylor's, and for the person below who joined "simply to point out Taylor's talent", that's some pretty dumb stuff to say.

Carrie for sure. She sounds good live, unlike Taylor. They both write their own songs, Taylor more then Carrie, but that will change in time. I don't like Taylor or any of her songs. Carrie way better, way prettier, way more talented!

this is such a simple question to answer it is ridilicous to even asked, I will admit Taylor is a better songwriter than Carrie, right now, but afterwhile I think Carrie will catch up. But when it comes to singing, there isn't even a debate about it. Carrie wins in a landslide, especially when comes to live performances. Most time, Carrie just has to stand there and sing her song, whereas Taylor must use props and stunts to keep the attention of the audience. Please Taylor do us a favor, if you think you sing better than Carrie prove it by just coming out on stage and just sing a song without any stunts or propss.

I actually, honestly the song really did have no point to it. I like it a bit more now that I know it's meaning And it IS really catchy.
And, truly, I do think Taylor Swift isn't that bad live, Carrie Underwood's just better. The thing is, I've only recently become a fan and haven't been able to buy either of her CD's yet;I really want to. But I've listened to most of her songs. And I wouldn't say Carrie is prettier, I just find Taylor has more of a unique look... Carrie's super pretty too, I like most of her songs (Especially Just A Dream, my favorite!) I don't really like Flat On The Floor or The More Boys I Meet, it's just not my type. But I like ALL of Taylor's songs...all of them. And I honestly would say Taylor's better... but Carrie's good.... my tied-fourth favorite female singer, with someone else. And third best country singer. (Although I only like three country singers)....So.....She's probably more talented than a lot of my faves, but I like them more... just a personal opinion.

Besides, why would anybody sing about getting drunk, getting married and not remembering your last name or his last name? There's no importance or depth to that song. If you think Taylor's songs are stupid look at those lyrics. I like Carrie, but There are a lot of singers i like more, I mostly joined to point out taylor's talent.

Lmao, if this was the Taylor Swift website, all the comments would be different. Asking Carrie Underwood fans which they like better is kinda dumb. I personally love them both, and I don't understand the need to compare them. They're so different. They both have strong points and not so strong points, but I don't think that means that one is "better" than the other. My boyfriend likes Taylor better because he hates the way Carrie hits the higher notes. It actually hurts his ears. I love the fact that Taylor writes or co-writes all her own songs, and the fact that she seems to want to connect with her fans more. I love the fact that Carrie now co-writes some of her songs, but also sings songs written by other people. I love Diane Warren, and Carrie sang 3 of Diane's songs on Some Hearts (Some Hearts, Lessons Learned, and Whenever you Remember) and those are my fav songs on that CD. They are both really talented and I can't wait to hear new music from both of them!

I am pretty much going to say what every Carrie Underwood fan is saying on this issue. Carrie is a much better vocalist than Taylor. Even though Taylor Swift writes all of her songs, all her songs are about the same thing. I am tired of hearing about Taylor's teenage relationship problems. Eventually Taylor is gonna grow up and not be able to get away with these songs. Meanwhile, the songs that Carrie sings tell many different stories. Lastly, Carrie Underwood's music appeals to all generations of people. Taylor Swift's music only appeals to young teen and pre-teen girls.

Lastly, why would you ask this question on Carrie Underwood's official website?

I"m kind of surprised this is being asked on Carrie's official site. When it comes to vocal ability and the quality of the songs Carrie wins hands down. Her songwriting has evolved and shows her compassion for others and also that she has a fun sassy side. There is real depth to her music. Taylor is a talented story teller which makes her a good songwriter, but she has limited vocal range and the subject matter follows a common theme. Since I prefer the big voices like Trisha, Martina and Carrie, I actually switch the station when Taylor comes on.because her voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me. She has found a niche, she is very popular right now and is milking it to the hilt. To her credit, she seems like a nice girl and a good role model. Carrie's voice has such purity to it - it is mesmerizing and you can't wait to hear more. To me that is the sign of a great vocalist and a true artist.

I actually really like both. Taylor has something sweet and endearing about her. Her voice is pretty, even though it's not the strongest, and I give her props for writing her own stuff and playing guitar. But for her sake I pray to God that she gets very far away from Miley Cyrus! That girl is no good! I would put Carrie over her though because her voice is amazing and her music is more mature. Carrie definitely leaves more of an impression because of her voice! I just want her to start writing more of her own music!

I love both, they are my Top 2 favorite females in the Country music industry right now.

I hate to knock Taylor. She seems like such a sweet person, and she has an enormous respect for the people who have come before her. But......she sounds pitchy on a note or two in almost every sentence of any given song she is singing. To me, the first thing a singer has to be able to do, is get every note right, like Carrie, and the best ones do.

this is not even a good question? in my opinion, because too darn obvious who would win Carrie without a douobt, and the only reason Taylor won at the CMT awards which is a joke in itself, just because Taylor was there and Carrie wasn't, she was home celebrating her mom's birthday. I compare Taylor to Britney Spears and Carrie to Martina McBride.I never figure what talent Britney Spears had much less Taylor but they both became Pop Princess Superstars.Carrie is a True Country Artist.I still don't know what is country about Taylor or her music its all Pop music as far as I can tell.
