Carrie Marie Underwood (Muskogee, Oklahoma, March 10, 1983) is an American country music singer who won the fourth season of American Idol. From the release of her debut CD, Some Hearts, in 2005, Carrie became a best seller in the United States and Canada.
Recently won the CMA [Country Music Awards] the best singer of 2006. Some Hearts is among the best selling CDs of 2006 worldwide.
History
Carrie was born at Muskogee Regional Medical Center, and grew up in his parents' farm in Checotah. She is the third and youngest daughter of Stephen and Carole Underwood. She has two older sisters, Shanna, born in 1970 and Stephanie in 1973. Carrie sang in the talent show of the Robbins Memorial, in its infancy. She is a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Although small, she sang in church and at the Lion's Club. In his 13 years in 1996, his agent tried a contract to record an album on Capitol Records. However, some things have changed in the record and the record was never realized.
After making the high school in 2001, she went to Northeastern University in Tahlequah, where he majored in communications and journalism. For two years, in summer, Carrie was at the concert performances of Northeastern's Downtown Country. She also competed with several girls at the university and was selected as Miss NSU runner-up in 2004.
Carrie is a cousin of actor Matthew Underwood's show "Zoey 101" of the children's channel Nickelodeon.
American Idol
In the summer of 2004, Underwood went to an audition for American Idol in St. Louis. On March 22, 2005, Underwood sang a great song, a hit of 80 years, "Alone" by Heart and judge Simon Cowell predicted she would win not only the program, as would all winners of the program. Underwood was the second winner that never was between three less votes.
On May 25, 2005, Underwood was crowned the winner of the fourth season of the show, beating Bo Bice.
In the sixth season, Carrie was to sing the last single from her CD Some Hearts, "Wasted." This was the fourth time in the show after his victory. Carrie also performed at the Idol Gives Back event, singing "I'll Stand By You" at the same event, Kelly Clarkson and Rascal Flatts have performances. Underwood sang the same song in the final day May 23, 2007.

Day 7 December 2006, the album Some Hearts has received four Grammy nominations. Underwood was nominated for "Best New Artist," "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" and the song "Jesus Take the Wheel" was nominated for "Best Country Song" and "Song Of The Year", winning two Grammy
The nomination of Carrie marked the first time an American Idol winner was nominated in the category "Best New Artist."

Carrie did a great job of hosting as usual. However most of the designs she wore were terrible and did not fit her personality. The worst was the last one, what happened to modesty and class that was just plain slezzy. Not at all worthy of the beautiful person Carrie has always been shown to be.
