Carrie To Perform During American Idol's “Grand Ole Opry Week” Wed March 18

2005’s American Idol winner and Grand Ole Opry member Carrie Underwood will return to the Idol stage for a performance on Wednesday, March 18, 9:00-10:00 PM ET live during Idol's Grand Ole Opry Week.
Carrie will perform her current hit single “I Told You So” with fellow Opry member Randy Travis, who will also be participating as Idol’s “Opry” mentor for the show’s contestants. Carrie’s version of this 1988 #1 classic by Travis can be found on her Carnival Ride album, and fans will soon be hearing another version on the airwaves as a new studio recording pairing Carrie and Randy arrives at country radio next week. A digital single of that recording will be available for sale at online music providers everywhere to coincide with their American Idol performance.
"I am so excited that two of my musical passions, American Idol and the Grand Ole Opry, are joining together to create a really special week of music,” says Underwood. “I am always thrilled to return to the Idol stage, and am so proud to this time be bringing with me one of my heroes, Randy Travis. I knew the Opry first, but Idol gave me my start and helped lead me to the Opry stage. It’s a great feeling to be able to help bring these two worlds together.”

when i heard ryan say that there'd be an idol contestant every week i immediately jumped up and knew that carrie would be back on the stage soon. knowing she'll be the mentor for opry week makes it SO much better! and what a great way to perform - with randy travis.

I just watch American Idol for that reason, just to see Carrie and Randy perform "I Told You So", I like the way you did that Carrie, showing respect to Randy without doing in showy kind of way. Especially, when you two sang together, the way drop down your vocals to match so easy, and Randy realizing what you did with just a little smile toward and he let you use your high vocals on the chorus part, that was beautiful to watch tonight, as usual excellent job.

I watched American Idol last night. H*** no I wasn't going to miss it !!! It was an amazing performance of Carrie and Randy Travis doing their duet together. The Idol performance with Randy Travis was moving and incredible, as usual. You could see that he was impressed with her vocals as well, especially her gifted upper register. Didi she cut her hair that short or was it styled to look that way? I sure hope she has not changed that drastically yet. Her stylist last night must have been high or something. Anyway, she is perfect and I just Iove her. Good luck at the ACM's Carrie!
Music for the Soul
What a treat for all of Underwood and Travis fans like me! Last night watching "American Idol" I was able to feel the nerves in my legs again, thanks to the wonderful duet and the beautiful song "I Told You So." That gave me chills up and down my spine!!

=) =) =) I am so VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY Proud of Carrie and Randy on American Idol last Wednesday (that is Randy Travis not Randy Jackson) I am P-ode that America sent Alexis Grace home. She sang Jolene very well. Simon said they were most likely gonna save her with their one save of the season and then after she sang, they said no. I thought either Adam Lambert or Scott MacIntyre was going to be sent home. Neither of them were in the Bottom 3 though. I personally though the bottom 3 was really the Top 3
