Carrie Kicks off a Week of Celebration at Fort Campbell with Salute to the Troops Concert Performance

Country music will celebrate the heroes who keep our country safe, as superstar Carrie Underwood headlines the Salute to the Troops Concert on August 14 for the Soldiers and families of Fort Campbell, KY, whose 101st Airborne Division is returning from their service in the Middle East.
The show is one of only a handful of live performances that Carrie is doing this summer as she readies her new album for later this year. The special nature of the event offered a wonderful opportunity for Carrie to once again celebrate our military, as she did on a 2006 USO holiday tour in Kuwait and Iraq.
The August 14 show will also feature RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen as part of two nights of star-studded multi-artist concerts taking place during the Week of the Eagles, presented by Fort Campbell’s Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) in partnership with Cumulus Broadcasting. The event-filled biannual celebration this year runs from August 14-20 and pays tribute to the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division.
For a complete schedule of events, visit www.fortcampbellmwr.com, and click on the Week of the Eagles button on the homepage. While honoring veterans, troops and their families, the Week of the Eagles is also free and open to the public. In observance of post protocol, all visitors will be required to present valid photo ID and will need to show current registration and proof of insurance for any vehicle admitted.

I was so hoping one day Carrie would go entertain the troops at Ft. Campbell especially my Old unit "The Rakkasans" currently 3rd Brigade 101st ABN DIV.but it was the 187th ARCT.My outfit.I was also in the 501st Signal BN there and HQS Garrison.I am hoping I can find a way to get there for this concert.I'm retired Army now.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note of thanks!!!! My hubby and I have called Ft. Campbell home for 5 years now and we are very excited to have you!! On Aug 14th I will graduate from college and rush afterward to post for a quick concert!! Thanks to you and all the others that still take the time to celebrate the military. A very good freind of mine stopped for you last week when you were sitting along side the road with 2 flat tires and he gave you a ride to the next town. He said you were a very nice young lady and gave your managers card to him and told him to call for some free tickets,(which he told you he wouldn't be able to use). He said all that was nice but that you didn't even say "thank you". Little things like that mean alot to people like us.
But we still love ya!

When My husband was home on R& R we watched the 2008 CMA's. Leslie Ponder talked about her husband that she lost and then Carrie perform "Just a Dream" and I just balled as I held on to my soldier. Knowing that in just a few more days he would have to return back to Afghanistan. But He made it back to Fort Campbell!! can't wait to see you perform live once again. I use to listen to you sing at the Arkansas Oklahoma State Fair !! I am so excited that you are coming to Fort Campbell!!

Worst concert
I am very unhappy with her setup and performance in Paso Robles,CA. I am a 21 year military veteran and recently went to her concert .My family and i are very big fans but wow it was horrible.My wife who is 7 1/2 months pregnant could not even see her and the tickets we bought were supposely good.Not! Her opening act sang a couple songs but then it was almost 45 min before she performed, we dont have any pics to show we saw her other than the actual tickets. I feel we deserve our money back for the show. We still love to hear Carrie but i wouldnt ever pay to see her again..we even left early i could have just stayed home and watched her on cmt.Carrie your a great singer!

I was thinking at Ft Campbell wouldn't it be Cool if a Blackhawk Helicopter appeared over the stage and Carrie in Fatigue Uniform she has, was lowered in a Harness to the stage carrying a open umbrella and someone on the Stage helped her out of the harness. She could say "Am I Qualified to be with you'all now?then she removes the unifom and under it a sleek sexy outfit like some of the ones she often wears.Then she addresses the crowd and starts with JTTW.
