she's got a new album coming out in less than a month so she should be back on the scene very soon

I think it's really cool that Carrie missed the award show for her mom! It shows that she has priorities, and family is more impotant than awards. I don't know if some of the other country stars would do that.
So while I was dissapointed she wasn't there, at least I know it was for a good cause.(:

Well said Strummin, I think you are right. Right now everyone is hearing the same ones over and over again. I think its a good break at the right time.

I don't find it disappointing at all that she wasn't at the CMT awards. She took time off to be with her family for her mother's birthday. I think if she went, then she would have been rude to her family.

I never liked CMT.
One: the act that Taylor Swift, who since more pop than country, got nominated for more awards than Carrie & won!
Two: They never nominate Carrie for the things she should be nominated for. One lousy award which she lost, but should have.
I don't know, but I always had the feeling they never liked Carrie! >.<

And, she is going to be performing at the GOO! I think she is going to sing her new single!!!

Carrie is a big enough powerhouse country superstar that she doesn't have to be all over the news every minute - it's good to have a rest in the media so when her album comes out it will get people interested anyway - Carrie said she likes to do one thing at a time and do it well - she's working on her album right now and it's very important for her I would imagine to get it right for her fans -

as for the CMT awards, this is the first country award show Carrie didn't sing on in four years - she deserves a break - I like really GOOD singers like Carrie and Trisha Yearwood and if you're a good singer you will have longevity in country music - I don't really think Carrie wants to be in the spotlight all the time unlike other singers who really need that to keep their career going and to feed their ego - Carrie will put out great music and her fans will buy it. Plain and simple.

Do you suppose that many of her fans were disappointed when she didn't appear at the CMT awards. Seems like now Pickler/Swift have stolen the scene....they are all over the magazine
media. Maybe Carrie made big mistake by having a birthday party with her Mom on a Tuesday night (CMT award show night) instead of having it a few days later. Maybe it's always best to "go with what got you there".

You guys need to support Carrie by voting on the CMT top 20 and GAC. On GAC ITYS is slipping for #14 to #17.

I am sure you read the news that the 3rd album will be release on Nov 3rd.

And pls vote her on GAC as well.
