My name is Courtney Bombardier and I am currently employed with Bedford PD in Texas. I’m emailing you today because my best friend’s family is in need of some help.

My Best friend’s father and stepmother were living out at PK Lake and with all of the fires; they lost their house and everything inside on 08/30/2011. They were unable to obtain their belongings because both of them were working. Their names are Eddie and Nancy Shelton. Eddie is a volunteer fire fighter with PK Lake. Eddie is also retired Arlington PD for 20 years and worked for Bedford FD as a volunteer Fire Fighter.

When I spoke to His daughter Kacie, she advised that her father was fighting the fire on his neighbor’s house when he saw his own go up into flames. There was nothing he could do because the fire was moving too fast and he stated that he needed to help others in need.

We are trying to help them out any way we possibly can, I’ve been in touch with Kacie, Eddie’s daughter, who I’ve known for ten years now, and I have also spoken with Eddie.

If there is anything you're able to do to help, it would be greatly appreciated, we are asking for donations of any sort, money, gift cards, food or anything that would be able to help this family out. This is a family that gives their all and expects nothing in return, but now they do need us.
