First Thoughts On the Play On Album

i like it. Unapologize, temporary home, of course cowboy casanova.
still...she has such a powerful voice that she showcases in carnival ride, i was hoping to see some more of that. Play on is more subdued, sweet, and definitely shows her writing abilities. the one thing i'm thinking is that while these new songs are good, they won't have the same effect on an audience at the award shows that'll be coming up (ACMs,CMAs,Grammy's,etc). she completely knocked it out of the park with each of her songs when she performed live because they were so vocally powerful, and i'm worried that will affect her song ratings.
nevertheless, it's a great album, and it only makes me anticipate the next one already. she's a rockstar
I like it. But it seems like all the songs are about boys. Almost all of them. I miss the 'Never give up...God is ALWAYS with us' music, like 'Wheel of the World' and 'So Small'. But it is addicting to listen to. My favorite songs so far are Quitter, Look At Me, and What Can I Say is absolutely AMAZING! I cannot wait for her next tour to hear them live!
HI to all of carrie's fans ..... i bought carnvial ride and play on tuesday and listened to both of them. and they are both excellent... my next cd to buy is some hearts. if i had to pick one of the cd's it would be play on.. . out of the 13 songs on c/r i really liked 7 and out of the 13 songs on p/o i really like 11.. but just to be honest with you i just love listening to her voice.... big fan of carrie in florida .......
I'm really excited about the album!
At first I was very sketchy when I heard "Cowboy Casanova". I was wary about the new direction she was taken but now the song has grown on me immensely and she performs it really well. I love the part where she sings fast and the overall beat.
The way I described the album to my friend was the first half of it was great and the second half was downright amazing.
Everyone is saying how great Mama's Song and Temporary Home are and it's true, they are wonderful songs, but there's some other gems on the CD too. I can't see both of those songs being singles.
I love the pop country vibe she has on here. I think this album is going to win her some new fans who aren't country fans to begin with (like I was
)
Quitter and Undo It could have huge crossover success and I love them. I don't understand why all the adult contemporary/pop stations play Taylor and not Carrie. I just looked at the back of my case and realized I will probably mention all the songs as being my favorites, but I have to say I'd especially love to see Look at Me, Unapologize, and What Can I Say released as singles.
Great job Carrie, love you!
The first time I heard Play On was late at night and I had to keep the volume down low. I finally got to listen to album with the volume cranked up. This album Rocks!!! I didn’t at first think it was as good as Carnival Ride (an album I conceder a masterpiece), now I think it blows it away.

Carrie really hit a home run on this one. All the songs range from good to great. The most surprising great song was Songs Like This. I am a C/W fan and Play On is a great C/W album. Many congrads to Carrie. God has truly blessed her with a great voice.
