I love the HSUS and am glad she puts her money towards something like that. And absolutely not get a new CMA host she's amazing. I am furious with Carrie Underwood for donating $200,000 to the HSUS. Just more money into the pockets of a group more concerned with bringing in more cash than helping animals. And now she has an association with PETA? That is too much.

I have no problem with hunting, but I still will listen to Carrie. I don't think these views make her liberal, I mean I don't like animal cruelty and I'm not liberal by any means. Please, people, do not get all worked up and excited about little things like animals, hunting, vegetarianism, etc. There are far more important things in life to worry about. Enjoy Carrie's voice and singing ability, and don't worry about her personal choices. She has a right to her personal life and to support whatever causes she deems important for her. Our only relationship to her is through her singing, as listeners. I don't worry about what causes my mailman, lawyer, or doctor supports. As long as they discharge their duty towards me in the correct way, I don't even ask them about those things. Not my business. I don't even know their political affiliations, and I couldn't care less. So is with Carrie, as long as she delivers those magnificent renditions that I enjoy so much--I don't care for her personal life. That's her own business. I really care about my faith in my Lord Jesus Christ, since based on it I'll obtain the forgiveness of all my sins, and eternal life in his kingdom. However, we feel compelled to write to you voicing our displeasure over your support of the Humane Society of the United States. HSUS is NOT an animal rescue group as people have been led to believe. The president of HSUS, Wayne Pacelle, has made many statements confirming his desire to eliminate all hunting and all animal agriculture.

You seem to forget that the majority of people who buy your cd's and listen to country music are avid hunters and fishermen. It seems that maybe in your college days you were overly influenced by radical liberal professors.

It is your right to believe as you wish. However, you have no right to force your beliefs on anyone else. As long as Carrie Underwood supports HSUS- I'll not listen to anymore of her music. I would have thought she was intelligent enough to RESEARCH any organization she planned to support. HSUS wants to rid the USA of all domestic pets. Better she support real humane societies or rescue organizations that are really helping animals. I won't support ANYone that supports HSUS or PeTA or like organizations.

name is a misnomer. They do not own ONE dog/cat shelter (tho they have
overtaken 4 sanctuaries for large animals and wildlife, so they can "say"
they do take care of animals, but they do not own shelters that take in cats

which has much more radical tactics than HSUS, and does NOT treat animals
ethically, unless you call euthanization of over 90% of what they take in as

This issue is not a hunting or fishing issue. HSUS funds organizations to stop the use of animals for any reason. So their ultimate aim is to make sure no one has a choice of what to eat, what to wear, what medicine to take or what vocation to have because their agenda is to make all animal products (pet ownership, testing of animals in the development of new medicines, ranching, etc.) illegal.

This issue is a personal liberty issue. Carrie (I think mistakenly) entered the political arena by announcing she was supporting HSUS with her fan's dollars. That's why this is an issue.

If Coke came out and said their product would funnel a percentage of profit to the Democratic Party, then half the U.S. would stop buying Coke. It's the same thing. I love Coke, but I would not buy Coke if they took my dollars and funneled them to any political party, even if it were my own. Sorry, I'd miss Coke, but Coke needs to stay out of politics with my money.

I was very upset to see Carrie supporting the HSUS. She needs to do her homework and find out what they are really about. HSUS agenda is to end owing pets and animals of any KIND. Do people understand what that really means?
The money that is donated to them does not go to help animals as they'd like you to believe. As a star she owes it to her fans to do her homework about any charity she plans to support. Because some fans will follow her blindly. We need to band together and rid the United States of the HSUS and PETA. Look up these groups on the internet!

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised to see how many people have already brought up Ms. Underwood's support of HSUS. I created this username for the very purpose of posting my feelings on this issue. While Country isn't at the very top of my music list, it's on the list nonetheless, and Ms. Underwood is a very talented young lady who I hate to see support such a liberal group both financially and with the recognition of her name. I am a member of the National Rifle Association, and there are already those who would boycott Ms. Underwood for aligning herself with a group so against gun ownership and hunting. As for me, I'd just like for our collective voice to be heard by whomever runs this site and inform Ms. Underwood that by siding with HSUS she is alienating herself from her fans- many of whom are, in fact, gun owners and hunters.

Carrie is an animal lover you've known that since Idol. I am not surprised that she is supporting this group. She is right hunting animals as a sport is wrong...for food is different but if you kill a rabbit just "for kicks" then I am right behind CVarrie.
