I'm completely surprised that some people, including some fans, are criticizing Carrie for supporting The Humane Society of the United States. I think these people are not true music lovers---because if they were, they would not care what Carrie does with her spare time. I don't know anything about The Humane Society of the United States. On the other hand, I think it's rather unfortunate and undesirable that so many celebrities apparently feel the need to keep up with the Joneses, and publicly declare their opinion or support for often controversial subjects, which could negatively affect their careers. Some people seem almost cursed, as a resul, or could they possibly have been a victim of wrong doing? In a biography movie, country singer John Denver wanted to preserve a forest. He died at about age 45, in a plane crash, of his small plane. Freddie Mercury, of the British rock group Queen, died at age 45, of AIDS. Queen wrote several controversial songs. One, titled "White Man" criticized the white race. Another, titled "Hammer To Fall", criticized war. "Death On Two Legs" criticized police. I don't know how many other songs with controversial lyrics, were made by Queen. Currently, Queen guitarist Brian May, is involved in a save the whales campaign. I just feel that the safety of these celebrities could be in jeopardy, those who sing controversial lyrics. Look at John Lennon. He sang "Imagine", possibly promoting communism, and he was assassinated. Are these deaths just coincidence? To conclude, I think singers should stop singing controversial lyrics, and stop publicly making controversial opinions, or publicly supporting controversial causes.
Regarding Carrie, as supporter to The Humane Society of the United States.
