Awesome Job Carrie on the BEST FEMALE VOCALIST AWARD! With your awesome talent, no one can ever take your place! Congrats & good job! Keep up the fantastic country work!

Carrie I think that you are a wonderful role model for young girls. I mean you sing a few drinking songs, but Hey your only human......and who doesn't throw a few back every now and then. HA-HA! I love your music and I think you have such a beautiful voice. I have loved American Idol every since I saw you and Kelly Clarkson perform. You have made me want to live my dream of becoming a singer. I have always loved to sing, but never thought I could go anywhere, cause I am from a small town. Right now. I am wanting to become a singer, just haven't figured out how to go about it. Hopefully I will be standing next to you at the CMA awards one day, but sometimes I think I am to old to do it, cause I am 24. Most singers start at such a young age. Keep doing what your doing and I wish you the best from here on out. You have done a great job so far, so I am sure you will keep on keeping on.. We all love you Carrie Underwood and wish you the best of luck.

Wow!
You did it again.(=
Congrats Carrie,you deserve it all!

It was great to see you in person, some of your songs really hit home. I had kind of a strange seat in the dome, my ticket put me dang near backstage on your left. I think I was the furthest person over on that side. So I watched most of the show looking at the back of your head. It was nice that you came over and sang in our direction and threw my GF a wave. Over all very good experience, got to love the G and R, that was a fun ending.

wow i always knew CARRIE would win...although i was very nervous and excited for her to win....SHE is just the best IDOL ever...I love you carrie!! i hope you'll find time visiting Cebu here in the Philippines for a special tour...mwah!!!!

I am a filipino, very very very proud to be a carrie underwood fan forever!!!

I'm glad Carrie won Top Female Vocalist of 2008. She's such a talented, hard worker, and she's so darn cute! I like her new hairstyle, with bangs over her forehead. I wish my hair was as thick as hers to cover my forehead! Ha-Ha! I loved her two performances. When a word didn't come out once or twice during her first song, Last Name, which opened the awards ceremony, I thought, oh no!, Carrie's getting a little out of breath, because she sings it so loud, she makes it look exhausting. I also thought oh no!, maybe Carrie's nervous. Carrie, if you ever get nervous, let me give you a tip that might help. I believe if you know what you're doing, and if you know you're really good at something, then you should not be nervous. I know this is theoretical, and probably easier said than done, because I'm not a star like you who performs in front of thousands of people, and I think it's effectiveness is reduced when performing for an audience which may not be appreciative. Which explains why I often got nervous singing at karaoke bars, because even if I was satisfied with my performance, I was worried if the audience would like me and the song I sang. Also, you could try feeling hopeless, like nothing matters, like you'll never have anything, which would be difficult, because you're already a star. But you could imagine it. That's how I feel. That racists or other gangsters will interfere with my life and make sure I never have anything like a normal life. So if I feel I've got nothing, then I've got nothing to lose. I watched the awards show live, and enjoyed it, maybe because it was all country music, as compared to the Grammys, which I think is about all kinds of music. I was sort of hoping maybe Carrie would cry if she received an award, like she did when she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry recently. She looked so cute when she cried at the Opry. But Carrie didn't cry at the ACM's. I liked the way she was moving around on stage during Last Name, walking all over the stage, and down the stairs into the crowd! She really took over the stage! That must take a lot of courage, just like singing with a new voice, as in Last Name, especially after having several hits with her previous successful voice such as in Jesus Take The Wheel. I've been watching quite a few music awards shows in the last six months, and was thinking I'm getting pretty smart at guessing the routine. I was guessing Carrie's probably not going to win an award at the ACM's Sun. May 18, because I concluded there's basically two categories of awards---1.top new vocalist, lumped together with album of the year, and song of the year, and 2. lifetime achievement award. So I thought that Carrie probably won top vocalist, top album, and top song, last year or the year before, and because Carrie is 25, I thought Taylor Swift or more likely a complete newcomer, about age 18, might win all those first categories of awards, top vocalist, album, and song. So I thought, unfortunately, that the only thing left for Carrie to do at these awards shows, other than performing, is to sit there, looking like a well mannered, subdued librarian, for about the next 10-15 years, waiting to receive her next and final award, the lifetime achievement award! I'm so glad I was wrong, and Carrie won top vocalist of 2008! I hope Carrie wins lots more awards. I'm not as smart as I thought I was! Ha-Ha! Finally, a note to the author of the comment titled Disappointed, who was disappointed with the lyrics of Carrie's opening performance, Last Name, because the person did not feel they were appropriate for girls of any age, as compared with Jesus Take The Wheel, which is appropriate. I think some people will criticize the lyrics, promoting drunkenness and implying sexual promiscuity, but I personally don't take lyrics too seriously. I hope Carrie or any other songwriter doesn't hate me for that, because it takes effort and talent to write a song. I think of song lyrics as lies, and if that's an exaggeration, then at least I think of them as fiction. But there could be some truth in them, or maybe a lot of truth in them. If a singer, such as Carrie, sings a song about loving me, I think it would be nice, but I think it's just lies, or fiction, or maybe it's true but it's about someone else. I don't want to offend songwriters, such as Carrie, but it's hard to open my mouth without offending someone, but I try not to pay attention to the lyrics. To me, music is almost all about the music, you know, the musical notes, the instruments, and the singers. The lyrics are just something a singer sings so he or she won't have to sing la la la la instead, for the whole song, or so the song is not an instrumental song. I think British former pop star and song writer Phil Collins summed up the unimportance of lyrics when, years ago, someone asked him what the lyrics meant to the Phil Collin's hit, which I think he wrote himself, In The Air Tonight, about someone possibly drowning and I think, dying a mysterious death. Phil Collins replied that he has no idea what the lyrics mean! So I would suggest to anyone disliking Carrie's lyrics in Last Name, or any of her other songs, to simply ignore them, or don't take them too seriously. I think they're probably not true at all. Carrie said once that she used to chase cows in the field, for entertainment. I find it hard to believe she could now be behaving like she describes in Last Name. Similarly, just yesterday, I saw some guy, a country musician I think, on CMT Dedicated, and he was saying how after seeing Carrie's video Before He Cheats, now he's afraid of Carrie even though she's a small person! Can you believe it? Nonsense, I say. I don't think Carrie Underwood has a dangerous bone in her body. I think she's harmless.

I was rooting for you!! Great job for the third year in a row!! Keep the hits coming!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved your performances they were pretty sweet!!!!! You deserve it 100%!!!!
