Carrie Records Contestant Farewell Song For American Idol

“Home Sweet Home” to Be Released as a Digital Single, with a Portion of Proceeds Benefiting The Humane Society of the United States
Carrie has recorded a familiar song for the new season of American Idol. The remake of Mötley Crüe’s “Home Sweet Home” will make its debut on Idol March 11 and will air each week as the farewell theme for contestants leaving the show. “Home Sweet Home” will be available as a digital single exclusively on iTunes through March 16, when it can be purchased at online music retailers everywhere.
To support a cause very dear to Carrie's heart, she, 19 Recordings, and Sony Music Nashville will donate a portion of the sales proceeds from “Home Sweet Home” to The Humane Society of the United States.
Carrie is a longtime supporter of The Humane Society. “I’ve always loved this song, and besides being very fitting for Idol, to me, the title is also very fitting with animal rescue and finding animals their own homes. So we felt it was important to tie the release into an amazing animal charity like The HSUS.”

Yes, finally! American Idol is my favorite show and ever since Chris Daughtry sang "home" for the going away song i knew carrie would have to get it one season. then daniel powder had it, and then ruben studdard. so YAY CARRIE!!!!! Can't wait to buy the song, it's going to be awesome. and we'll get to hear is this wednesday when somebody goes home!!!!!

So very disappointed
I am a huge Carrie Underwood fan - have been since her days on Idol - and I am so disappointed that her "camp" has chosen to support the radical animal rights group, HSUS. Most people don't realize that HSUS is *not* a group about rescue of stray dogs and cats like your local Humane Society. Instead, it is a group akin to PETA, whose real agenda is the eradication of animals for human use - whether that is for pets, food, or otherwise. I'm now afraid I will have to delete the music I have purchased online, throw away my cds and tell others not to support Carrie, which saddens me, as I think she's one of the few truely talented coutry singers of this day.

Bought the download after hearing a snippet.As Usual Carries Spin on "Home Sweet Home" I think is better than some of Vince Neil's and Motley Crues performances of the song.She puts so much feeling into it with her Vocal Ability and feelings and she does it so wonderful and sincere I have to say I relly love her version of this Rock Classic.

Feeling let down
I have also always been a huge Carrie Underwood fan, watching her on idol and enjoying the music she has released since then. I am deeply saddened by her choice to support the HSUS - a group that uses false advertising to make its followers believe it helps animals in similar ways to local animal shelters when it in fact does not. Someone with such an influence on people should do a little more research before teaming up with such a dangerous organization. I will not be downloading "Home Sweet Home" and it saddens me to say I can no longer support such a talented artist because of the poor decisions she has made since promoting her "sweet home, country girl" image on Idol.
Amazing attitude for a country girl
Carrie, I loved watching you on Idol, I was very happy to see a sweet country girl suceed like you have. UNTIL I found out you support HSUS and PETA, I think it is just because you have been sent into this whirl wind at a young impressionable age. The wrong people are influencing you.
I am a 43 year old horse trainer that has seen HSUS tear apart so many sectors of animal agriculture. You need to look at this situation and listen to the grass roots of america, not Wayne Pacelle. Find people who can educate you as to what they really do, I won't totally write you off because I think your being misled. If you need help understanding Waynes World just contact me and I can prove all the half truths and lies that HSUS represents.
Did you not think there was a reason that so many walked out on you at the FFA convention. It wasn't cause you sounded bad. You need more education and you could be a much greater asset to animals by not dealing with either HSUS or PETA.

Carrie... you were really my Idol. But now I will treat you the way HSUS and PETA treats law abiding animal lovers and hunters. I cannot believe you have decided to support these people that "claim" they are out to help animals. I wish you would do some research into the PETA and HSUS organizations and see what they really do. Don't look at their information. Look at the REAL information. They destroy animals and think it's ok. They take them to woods and throw them out instead of burying them properly. I wrote HSUS and told them they should put their efforts and time and money into helping people.A person that was helped will give you a hug and love you, but some animals that they "Helped ' will be indifferent and could care less.

How can you support an organization like the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Have you or your associates actually bothered to find out what this fake animal support organization really stands for or what their ultimate agenda is?
I doubt very much that you’re aware that you just kicked the people that are your biggest fans and the ones you grew up with in rural Oklahoma in the teeth. The HSUS is the organization that wants to end all hunting, fishing, livestock farming and pet ownership, including the seeing dos for the blind. To that end the HSUS will do whatever they deem necessary, including mistreating animals and subject them to undue suffering in the filming of their promotional videos.
I like your music but I never will buy another record of you for as long I have to fear that part of that money is donated to a hypocritical organization like the HSUS. If you really want to help animals donate the money to your local animal shelter where it is needed really badly and not to a multi million dollar corporation that does nothing to help animals.
I am afraid with the decision you made you will loose many of your longtime fans and as a writer I will make sure that as many people as possible will learn about your ill conceived “charity”. I urge you to reconsider and do some unbiased research on the HSUS ,like many before did and then dropped their support for the HSUS because they saw the ugly truth behind the cuddly smoke screen the HSUS put up to fool people.
Changing my opinion of Carrie - shameful
Carrie, I have been a fan of yours since the Idol days. My daughter sings your songs and I always felt that you were a breath of fresh air in a world of celebrity wackos. I find it hard to believe that you are now one of them.
I hope that you will do a search on the HSUS and see who you are really supporting. They are not the caretakers of homeless puppies, they are a far left hate group that feel that animals have the same rights as humans. You come for a country background and no doubt have raised animals and your folks live on a farm. You are all the targets of HSUS. If they had their way, they would put your parents out of business. Heaven forbid if you own a horse for you are again a target. If your future children would like to go fishing with you and their dad, if HSUS has their way, that too will be illegal.
There is many good charities that your generosity would really help and do much good, but you need to do your homework before get duped again. HSUS, PETA and ALF are just a tick away from being a terrorist organization and should not be supported.

Carrie, I almost feel betrayed by your implied endorsement of HSUS through the funding you will be giving to them. I'm sure you grew up around hunters, and this outfit wants to end all hunting. I've always felt a bond with you, country boy to country girl. But not any more, unfortunately. I cannot support anyone who supports a dispicable organization such as HSUS. I know many people in the animal services industry. None of them work for HSUS. This is an organization that does nothing for animal welfare. They are about making money and advancing a political agenda.

I like your singing, but I cannot support any singer who gives money to the HSUS. Are you of the mistaken belief that HSUS supports animal shelters? Those are local. I'm so glad that Carrie has chosen to support such a worthy organization. Despite some of the rants previously posted- several of which are suspiciously similar- HSUS is a fantastic organization that promotes the general well-being of animals. They do NOT discourage pet ownership, when done so in a responsible manner. While they may be opposed to hunting, which is one topic that had been repeatedly mentioned in this posting, it is because they don't believe that animals should suffer so that we can feast on them. Is that REALLY such radical idea? God forbid an organization such as the Humane Society show a little compassion. (p.s. Carrie is *gasp* vegetarian!)

You need to withdraw your support as soon as possible, Waynes World is not one you will be happy being in. He is getting desperate right now and there is alot of bad press coming out on HSUS, a star like you is exactly what he needs to ramp his agenda back up. Carrie, I totally support you, 1000%. I think it's great that you support HSUS and help them out in whatever ways you feel necessary. I love Carrie and her work…what a great American success story! Unfortunately the organization she is trying to promote HSUS (and she probably is unaware of their real agenda) is trying to destroy a part of our culture that many people feel very strongly about and truly love.
Sadly, the underlying freedom and culture that has made America the best place to live in the world is under attack by so many organizations it’s hard to keep track.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is one of these organizations and IS NOT the same organization that operates on a state by state basis helping pets. HSUS does not operate or oversee animal shelters; it is a radical organization that seeks to end hunting and other responsible uses of animal products in the U.S.A.
If HSUS has its way the following current freedoms we enjoy would disappear:
1. The right to hunt (All hunting) – A heritage that precedes the birth of this country – anti hunters usually think twice when asked if they would give up all food and all other products made from animals
2. Leather: shoes, hand bags, luaggage, jackets, belts, furniture, car interiors, etc…
3. A large part of the vast majority of Americans (95%) diet would change without : Beef, Fish, Pork, Chicken, Turkey, (Some of the best examples - Burgers, Lobster, , Caesar salad, Eggs, Milk, Turkey Club sandwich, Steak, Hot dogs, BBQ, Ham, Bacon, Tacos, Sausage, Sushi, shrimp, fried clams, Chicken wings, Corned beef, Pastrami, you get the idea…)

Carrie - This is simply unbelievable. I would never have imagined that a true to heart country artist would actively support HSUS. You have stood head and shoulders above the other "new" country (and pop) personalities and have been one of our favorites. Unless you reconsider your support of HSUS you will be damaging your reputation and your fan base. HSUS, being an ANTI-HUNTING organization, is an organization that a vast majority of your fans DO NOT SUPPORT. Many country fans enjoy the time tested tradition of hunting and your contributions to one of the largest ANTI-HUNTING fund raisers will not be viewed as acceptable. HSUS (& PETA which you probably also support) supports the end of animal use in all facets...pets, testing, agriculture, etc. You and your team need to understand what you are supporting and the effects it could have on many who make their living in some sort of agricultural or scientific field. Also, consider those who simply enjoy the outdoors and our American right to hunt, harvest ,and consume wild animals as managed by law. You have disappointed us. Yes there are people who joined this site just to tell Carrie their opinion of her poor judgement. WTH how would she know if we didn't? Look at Quizno's joining forces with PETA, not much sense there. They are feeling it in the wallet now! I hope thats not what it takes in this case. Carrie, you are a phenominal artist and in my eyes the best female country artist to come along since Reba. I love to hear you sing. But when I found out that you were supporting HSUS, I was very upset and disappointed. HSUS is an animal rights group that would like to take away our hunting privileges. Hunting is a way of life for the American sportsmen, not a sport to just go kill something. My family does not buy beef at the store, we eat venison and other wild game because it is so much more lean than store bought beef. I understand if you are a vegetarian and I respect that. Please respect the american sportsmen AND women and their love for the outdoors and joy it brings to their families. I ask that you reconsider your support for the HSUS and that you cancel any financial support going to them from the song Home Sweet Home. Poor judgement?
Selecting the Humane Society of the U.S. shows a complete lack of judgment on Carrie's behalf. This is a lunatic faction organization that presents itself as being a 'dog and cat' protector while it's out trying to destroy the hunting and fishing rights of outdoorsmen all across our country. She might as well have chosen PETA and stood outside KFC demonstrating while singing one of her songs.
