Carrie to Perform Farewell Song “Home Sweet Home” On American Idol Tuesday, May 19

Carrie will return to American Idol (FOX) on Tuesday, May 19 to perform live this year’s Idol farewell song, “Home Sweet Home.”
Carrie’s “Home Sweet Home,” a cover of the original hit by Mötley Crüe, has aired on each results show during the Top 12 as the goodbye theme for contestants leaving the show. Carrie, 19 Recordings, Sony Music Nashville, and iTunes are donating a portion of the sales proceeds of the “Home Sweet Home” digital single to The Humane Society of the United States (www.hsus.org). These donations will be used directly for programs that help companion animals, provide spay/neuter services, and rescue and shelter animal victims of puppy mills and disasters.

i was really disappointed when carrie's performance of "home sweet home" was shown with the video presentation of the whole season. When carrie performs live she has this gravitational pull which makes her fans and everyone watching want to just look and even stare at her. She's such a great Idol, vocalist, artist, performer, (whatever)....I'm also very disappointed since she didn't perform during the results' night..I know she already sang twice this season (I told you so and Home Sweet Home) and even appeared for the Idol's Gives back but it's just not a great show without her performance..I remember when she sang Last Name during the Cook-Archuleta finale...PERFECT!!!
by the way, i also read that carrie tripped and fell when she was jogging last saturday morning in nashville, that's why she wore pants when she sang home sweet home and that her choreography was affected because it hurt but she still sounded great. you can see her red carpet picture during the results' night that she has a dazzling band-aid..hahaha, so cute! I LOVE CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!! can't wait for her third album.

I am hoping what I heard on the radio is not true. What I heard is that you might do a duet with Chris Brown. I sure hope you do not. As a woman who was abused physically and emotionally(and survived) for years at the hands of my ex-husband. Please do not condone this type of behavior. From day one(american Idol) I have loved everything about you as a young woman coming into her own. You are such a great role model for young woman (which they need). I am praying that what I heard is just a nasty rumor. Remember there is no "reason" at all for someone to hurt another. God Bless You,

why cant people just accept a good song when they hear it.....country is not my major thing but Carrie is great and home sweet home is a great rock song sung brilliantly by a great artist. I have both albums and they are not overtly country in my opinion but more pop/rock/country. for that reason I like sara evans and martina mcbride too...they cross genres and get new people interested!! true, my leanings are definately a tad diverse (80's synth pop, madonna. soft rock through to metail) but why must we pigeon hole people!!

I can accept a great song when I hear it but when it's sung by someone who can't handle it and ruins it by singing it I think that's strickly wrong. I'm am a rocker by heart and when I heard Carrie sing that special ROCK song of mine and ruined it yes I was offended which I have a right to be. Too many singers out there think just because they can sing they can sing anything. And no Motley Crue is not country and or pop. That's why they are under the category of Rock and Carrie Underwood is categorized under Country. And no, I'm not missing out on anything just because I'm not an avid country music listener. To each his own!

i remember when simon told carrie that whatever she sings she sounds fantastic!! and i absolutely agree! yes!! carrie can sing and she can sing anything!! simon said it before that it's all about being an original, taking a song and making it your own..and i believe that carrie made this song her own and many love her cover!!

to the dude named purerocker, if you were that offended, perhaps you should have turned off your television set, because that song wasn't written exclusively for rockers, even if it was originally written as a "rock" song. artists and the people they work with have the right to change a few things and expand their horizons. if all the songs in the world were only performed in their original genre, gee, what's left for music?

Influences
The Beatles were huge Country music fans as they often talked about what an influence it was upon the music they made. One of my favorite songs they did was was a cover of the Buck Owens song Act Naturally.
