Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood duet?

They should go mentors...but separately. I HATE Kelly Clarkson. She has nothing compared to Carrie Underwood.
Besides, I don't think their voices would mix together. I wouldn't like to see a duet together.

As for mentors--I would think it would be separate. Carrie could mentor country week and Kelly could mentor pop rock or whatever week. I just think if I actually had singing talent and was on idol (yeah, I don't have those people that go, 'you're fantastic!' I have the people that go, 'please, stop')...but yeah, if I had talent in that area and I made it on to the show, I think it would be inspirational if Kelly and/or Carrie were the mentors for that week cause that's what they are all aspiring to...they all want careers like that!
I like both Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson...I think they're both terrific and seem to come across and quite nice and funny. Although, I am convinced Carrie Underwood ripped off my dating life for "The More Boys I Meet."
I think it would be an interesting duet! I loved David Cook and Carrie Underwood's duet....I thought that rocked.

I wouldn't want to see that duet, because Carrie is too good of a singer, and Carrie would have to bring her vocals down to not drown out Kelly, who has very rough vocals, whereas Carrie are so smooth. Carrie would be an excellent mentor especially for country week. Because Carrie would probably tell contestants don't think that big, just go with the flow.

Hmmmmm. I think Carrie herself would give the Kelly Haters a lot of argument on their statements. Kelly is as good as Carrie, and Kelly, Mandy Moore, Faith Hill and a few others are all tied in that upper echelon of voice talent. I think a Kelly/Carrie duet would be a singer lovers dream. For a long time I thought Kelly was better, but Carrie just keeps improving, and I think out of the Idols, they are now tied for 1st.

I agree...Carrie and Kelly are tied for my favorite idols. I think they're both fantastic and I think I read somewhere that Kelly would be interested in doing a duet with Kelly. I don't get the Kelly haters....I think they're both phenomenal. I wish I had half of that vocal talent--from both Kelly and Carrie. I guess I'm not hearing what others hear when they talk about either one of their vocal ranges....they both sound good to me!
I definitely hope idol brings Kelly and Carrie back as mentors....that would be a great episode!

Both are professional singers and both would know how to control their vocals if one or the other has higher or lower key vocal. I think a duet by Carrie and Kelly would be amazing for as long they pick the right song choice.

I think it would be cool. Personally, it would be interesting if they got all the american idol winners to colaborate. Of course, Carrie would overpower them all so there would really be no point, but there's already 8 winners and some sort of group project would be really neat. Carrie's definitely the best idol ever, but Kelly takes a close second.

Hi, I'm new to this forum...but I was wondering, am I the only one out there who would absolutely adore a Kelly/Carrie duet? I think they are both amazing...
I was also thinking it would be quite cool if both Carrie and Kelly came back to Idol next year as mentors....if anyone could mentor the new crop of idols, I think they would be my first two choices...
