Carrie quits because of SHARK, Cheyanne Frontier Days Rodeo

I love Carrie, and it saddens me that a group(Shark) shows the worst of the worst ever animal accidents and convinces her to pull out of the oldest rodeo in America. I think the western heritage is under attack. Rodeo and Country music? Thats it root. What is most sad to me is people go to the movies like "Jackass" to watch people get hurt and act like idiots. Watch "in the face of death" to see people dying. Kill thousand of bugs on the windshields of cars, but then draw a line in the sand and say they are on the right side of it, and say, Rodeo is cruel to animals. What most dont know is There are vet doctors at every PRCA event to ensure the animals safety, health, and medical needs if any arrise. Steers have protective wraps on the ears, Not needed, but done for the comfort of the steer. Special ropes have been designed for calf roping. These ropes are mandated in roping. They have stretch in them so it causes a softer pull on the animals. It is common for people to pay over 100k for a bucking bull. And if any activist thinks they are not taken care of they are CRAZY! In the wild, ALL heard animals fight to the DEATH, naturally.. Just for the right to breed and for food. I love Rodeo and to me Rodeo is THE life in Country Music. We should all support Carrie and encourage her to go to the Grand Daddy of them All rodeo, and all Rodeos. I am vowing to go to only her shows which will be at rodeos from now on. Let let her know she Rocks, and to stand firm for what COUNTRY music stands for. The love of the romance of the western life style!

As I understand it, Carrie is a vegetarian because she loves animals so much that she cannot stand to think of any animal being hurt – let alone being someone’s lunch.

And the sad fact is that some animals do get hurt, abused, and killed at rodeos. Just google “Shark rodeo” and watch for yourself.

Now I have never been to a rodeo and never will go to one. It’s just not my thing. And I am not a vegetarian. And whether rodeo are good or bad is not my concern.

What would have been a concern is if Carrie, after saying “I love animals so much I can’t eat them and the notion of them being hurt just makes me sick”, would then go out and make money {or just sing} at an event that treats animal diametrically opposed to her beliefs.

That would have been wrong. That would have been hypocritical.

I am glad to see Carrie has the courage of her convictions. Not a common trait these days.

Whether one agrees with her or not, you gotta love her for not being afraid to be who she is, taking a stand, and being true to herself.

You go girl!
