I think Jesus Takes The Wheel is the best song on the album because it can be taken and used for any situation you are in by just asking Jesus to take over is the same as saying Jesus Take The Wheel. I read a very hard to read speech that I had written for a dear friend that was killed as a soldier in Iraq in Dec. of 2006. I felt a sudden urge to sit up in bed one night and write this speech. The soldier that was killed was my youngest sons best friend in the whole world so they were like family to us. So this speech was written from my heart and it was to be read at the retirement of his football jersey number for their high school in a ceremony on opening day of the football season of 2007. I was very nervous as I'm not good at getting up in front of crowds to start with and also it was very emotional and I was very affraid I would begin to cry and no one would be able to understand a word I was saying and it was very important to me that people know that he was more than just an outstanding athlete he was a wonderful person who loved people as well. So I took that speech and of course reread it a lot but the day of the speech I took it in my hands and prayed while holding it and then when I got to the football stadium I sat in the car with Carrie Underwoods Jesus Take The Wheel and I held that speech in my hands and sang that song while holding this speech. A sudden peace came over me and I was able to go up into that press box and read that speech all the way through without crying. Of course I began to cry right afterwards but I'm just using this as an example of how this song can be used in many different situations just to ask Jesus to take over for you and handle the situation and sitting there holding that speech in my hands and singing that song with Carrie got me through a very tough time. Thank you so much Carrie for putting that song on your album and singing it so beautifully!! I love you so much!! Keep up the good work! I can't wait to get to the store and buy your newest album. I didn't realize it came out yesterday. I hope the store has some left as I'm sure they flew off the shelf!!
