Carrie Is A “10”!

Carrie Becomes the First Country Artist in History to Achieve 10 #1 Singles from Their First Two Albums!

“I Told You So” Today Marks Her 10th #1 Single with Album Sales Already Topping 10 Million!

She’s sold more than 10 million albums with her first two records alone, and now Carrie hits another milestone 10 as her current smash, “I Told You So,” becomes her 10th single to top a key sales or airplay chart. The accomplishment makes the four-time GRAMMY winner the first country artist in history ever to achieve 10 #1 singles on the strength of their first two albums.

This week’s #1 country airplay blockbuster also marks the fifth consecutive chart-topper from Carrie’s Carnival Ride album, which includes “Just a Dream” and three hits Carrie co-wrote: “So Small,” “All-American Girl,” and “Last Name.”

The newly crowned ACM Entertainer of the Year and three-time reigning ACM and CMA Female Vocalist accomplishes the rare feat of taking a former #1 song to the top of the country charts a second time – 21 years after Randy Travis first saw his composition hit the chart summit. She becomes the first country artist to return a song to #1 since Alan Jackson took the Don Williams classic, “It Must Be Love,” back to the top nearly nine years ago.

In addition to her original recording of “I Told You So” on Carnival Ride, a special studio duet of the song is currently available as a digital single, featuring Carrie with Randy Travis.

The only American Idol winner ever to achieve 10 #1 hits, Underwood’s collection of chart-toppers began with the instant success of her post-American Idol single, “Inside Your Heaven,” which debuted atop Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in the summer of 2005. It was the first of five #1s from her 7x-Platinum debut, Some Hearts, with the others including the GRAMMY-winning “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats,” as well as “Don’t Forget to Remember Me” and “Wasted.”

And in a bit of Carrie trivia, 10 continues to be a lucky number for Carrie. Her birthday is March 10, and just two weeks after her American Idol win in 2005, she made her debut on the Grand Ole Opry on the 10th of June and later became a member of the Opry with her official induction on May 10, 2008.

Yay, all the best on your 3rd album recording.

did carrie charted #1 already in the US???? When I searched Billboard, Sugarland was atop instead of Carrie??? why is that????

oi! may pinoy pla na may gusto kay Carrie!!! Magsama tau... I really love Carrie!!! super!

I wish Carrie and Company produce a single which Carrie sang powerfully like I Know You Won't...
Why? To be able to maintain Carrie's Grammy Title as Country VOCAL performance, they should release I Know You Won't or any breath-taking vocally recorded by Carrie...

Wow #10 I love your music and Beautiful singer. You are the best American idol. Smiling:) Lots of talent just
wait till the next single, music video or cd comes out.

Carrie's latest single I Told You So is confirmed not a Billboard Country #1 hit after crashing to number 9 after its 2-week reign at number 2. Blocking I Told You So was It Happens last weeks and remains on top this week...

Where did you get the rumor that I Told You so did chart #1 on Billboard's Country Chart in US?

I was really disappointed to see "I Told You So" went down from 2 to 9 this week at Billboard Country Chart.

The same situation happened with her song "Don't Forget To Remember Me" that peaked on # 2 at Billboard Country but reached #1 on Radio and Records Chart.

The article saying that the song made to #1 is based on the USA Today airplay charts compiled by Mediabase.Too bad to say that the song only stayed #1 for a week and this week the song dropped down to #8. What is going on?????

It seems that radio stations are not playing her song that much. Is it because fans are not requesting it?

Let's hope that the song move up again at Billboard Country Chart.

I am happy to see Filipino fans love Carrie....MABUHAY ka Carrie!!!!!

Carrie is a 10, but your article suggesting "I Told You So" reaching # 1 is very misleading. I truly appreciate Carrie's talent, crowd appeal, and absolute, genuine country music sound. I have been tracking this song weekly on Billboard Country Charts, and it peaked at #2, This week it dropped to #9, and it will not go back up. I believe Carrie is proud of the fact that she reached #2 for 2 weeks. You and many others realize that "Billboard" is the chart that matters the most to artists, The charts are what helps sell records. Suffice it to say that she has nine #1 hits and one number #2 hit.

It's no wonder that your version of "I told you so" would be a hit! I hope you visit the Philippines so soon! I listen to your cds everyday and they really sound great! Congratulations!

This is an amazing accomplisment and I congratulate you. I hope the Country Music industry gives you the credit you deserve for this. Keep up the fantastic work and I'm looking forward to your new album this fall. Kaye108

Disappointed that this single did not hit #1 on Billboard. Billboard was using R&R (which is now merged with Bb) while Mediabase and USA Today are together. the report came from USA Today said she clinched 10 #1s because it reported a few days before R&R reported. Actually, Carrie hit #1 in the mid-week update but ran out of steam. She did a few interview about 2,3 weeks before that so the last boost was not very strong :|

hey

Carrie some people said it would hurt your carrer if you pose for playboy. I think it would not it will help even more. I think you sould take the offer.

You rock Carrie!
Congratulations on your 10th number 1!
You deserve it 100%!
You are the greatest artist out there right now and your "Entertainer of the Year" award proves that to any doubters! Congratulations, again and keep on sending us forward some great music (as usual!)

I am glad you did well!! GOOD JOB!!

That is incredible! You absolutely deserve it. Some Hearts and Carnival Ride are the best CD's country music has seen in years. I hardly listened to country music before you came into the industry and now that you are in it that is all I listen to. You may not of reached #1 on the Billboard top 100, for I Told You So, but you definitely hit #1 for me. Your music is great and your voice is amazing. You truly have a gift from god and that is to sing even better live then you do in the recording studio. Not even country's biggest stars can do that. You can also sing anything and still be terrific at it, just like when you sang Alone(Rock song) From Heart on Idol, you dominated that song, almost as good as Anne and Nancy sang it. Simon Cowell made a big prediction that night and look, you achieved it and well done. You have deserved every award you won from P.E.T.A sexiest Vegetarian Smiling to The Entertainer of the Year( Which had not been won by a woman for 9 years). Lastly, I love your new song Cowboy Casanova, can't wait for the album to come out November 3rd. Hope you come to Colorado again for the "Play On" tour.
Much love to you Carrie! xoxo
