Questions and Support
I know this is a long shot but never hurts to try. I'll start by saying that we are HUGE fans!
I have a friend who's husband is in need of a heart transplant. He is currently in the hospital and recently found out that he will not come home until the transplant is complete. I have been trying to think of ways to fund raise to help this family with the costs of the transplant and post-transplant medications which are going to average over $1400 a month after insurance has paid. This gentleman waiting for a heart has worn many hats here, city council, volunteer firefighter at one point was the chief of the volunteer fire department, tow truck driver, plumber......the list just goes on and on. He has the biggest heart and to this day even as sick as he is, would give the shirt off his back if it meant helping someone.
This family has been through so much over the years, lost their house to a house fire, their first granddaughter was born 3 months premature and was hospitalized for an extended period and is now a thriving 11 year old, took one of their neices who had been removed from her mother into their home and are now raising her, and now he is in need of this transplant. We live in a small rural town in Central Texas where resources are very limited and funds for most residents of our community are limited. Thou every penny counts and most people do what they can for this family, so much more help is needed. We can't seem to come close to what this family needs financially to help them during this difficult time.
I know that you are from a small rural community as well and hope that you can relate to our situation. I actually went thru Checotah a couple of years ago and what a lovely community that is very proud of their local girl!
So my question to you Carrie is if you would be willing to help this family by doing a benefit concert? You can contact me at TXSweety09@sbcglobal.net.
Thank you!!!!!
